Kent State staff sorts clothing at the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center

Through multiple organizations and collaborations on and off campus, 秀色app ended 2019 as a more sustainable campus. Those who contributed to sustainable efforts worked hard to reduce the university鈥檚 carbon footprint leading to the university being honored as a finalist for the 2020 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Campus Sustainability Achievement Award  along with the 2019 Keep Ohio Beautiful award for Colleges and Universities.

A student gets tested for COVID-19 on campus

As part of 秀色app鈥檚 ongoing strategy to help stop the spread of COVID-19, Kent State has partnered with the city of Kent to bring the Ohio Department of Health鈥檚 Pandemic Testing Team to campus from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 for an open testing event

In an effort to ensure student access and success, 秀色app is waiving application fees for those who apply to the university in the month of November. 

秀色app鈥檚 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Plus (LGBTQ+) Center holds a safe, physically distant small group kickoff event at the start of the 2020 Fall Semester.聽

Campus Pride has released its 2020 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the first time in school history, 秀色app has landed on the distinctive list as one of 40 institutions recognized over six U.S. regions.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities has selected 秀色app as one of four finalists for the association鈥檚 2020 Degree Completion Award. The annual award works to identify, recognize and reward institutions that employ innovative approaches to improve degree completion while ensuring educational quality.

The coming election is an important one, and voters 鈥 particularly first-time voters 鈥 are navigating a challenging landscape of information, misinformation, PACs, bots, memes, toxic debates and inflamed rhetoric. 鈥淒on鈥檛 Hate 鈥 Debate (And Vote)!鈥 is an all-day teach-in event that will touch on many aspects of the elections, politics, political/social polarization and civil discourse.
