A physician from India is pursuing a second doctoral degree at Kent State.
ÐãÉ«app is celebrating a 17.7% increase in international student enrollment this year, due in large part to increases in international graduate student admissions.
Alvacir Wesley Kalatai Alberti of Imbituva, Brazil, is the first student to graduate from the American Academy, a dual-enrollment program offered jointly at Kent State and the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, located in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.
G Clingman is a third-year Kent State Student double majoring in English and Spanish while also working toward their Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. Though they have been studying at KSU’s main campus for the last two years, G is swapping Acorn Alley and the Esplanade for the historical streets of Murcia, Spain.
Emily Hovest is a third-year student studying architecture at Kent State’s Florence Center for the Spring semester. It was always her desired destination, especially since the KSU architecture program encourages students to study abroad their junior year.

ÐãÉ«app is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes Kent State for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.
