IN A FLASH: Learning the Ins and Outs of Patient Care

Students in 秀色app's nursing program learn foundational patient care skills like how to give injections, wound dressing, intubation and inserting an IV line using state-of-the art patient simulation manikins 鈥 and each other 鈥 in hands-on training in Kent State's College of Nursing

Lecturer Sarah Bixler leading a nursing class

In these photos, lecturer Sarah Bixler, MSN, RN, leads the class as they practice these essential, everyday nursing skills. As repeated jabs can shorten the useful life of these expensive patient simulation manikins, researchers at Kent State have been looking at ways for nurses to learn these skills virtually.
