The vertical wind turbine is installed on the southeast side of the Science & Nursing Building.

Through a grant facilitated by Dr. Christopher Post, associate professor of geography, the Dominion Foundation awarded Kent State Stark $28,000 for a vertical wind turbine. Wind Turbines of Ohio, located in Alliance, installed the turbine on the southeast side of the campus鈥檚 new Science & Nursing Building. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded 秀色app鈥檚 Min-Ho Kim, Ph.D., assistant professor of biological sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, a $1,842,350 five-year grant. The grant from the NIH鈥檚 National Institute of Nursing Research is to develop 鈥渘anobombs,鈥 a nanotechnology-based therapeutic platform that can treat biofilm infection in chronic wounds.  Kim will lead a research collaboration with three other research laboratories. The semester ended on a high note for 秀色app鈥檚 contemporary a cappella singing group. Dressed in their blue and gold, the Kent Clarks recently shared their talent on the plaza of NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday Show.鈥 The 16-member group sang a mix of Top 40 hit songs on the show before heading inside the studio to watch Lady Antebellum perform. The group also met Anna Kendrick, the star of 鈥淧itch Perfect 2.鈥 This is the second star-studded performance for the Kent Clarks in the past few months. Joseph Pritchard of Washingtonville received the prestigious Anna Ulen Engleman Creative Writing Award from the 秀色app English Department. He is a junior at the Kent State Salem Campus, majoring in English. Along with his application for the award, Pritchard submitted a poem for consideration. He will be published in the June issue of Wordgathering (www.wordgathering.com).  Pritchard works as a tutor in the Learning Center on the Salem Campus and hopes to eventually complete a masters of fine arts degree. East Liverpool 鈥 Students from Kent State East Liverpool鈥檚 occupational therapy assistant program and the physical therapist assistant program recently participated in outreach projects to help make the city a little brighter.   Students from the PTA program were part of the City Sweep event held during Earth Week.
