鈥淚t's an honor to be recognized as a winner for the Society of Professional Journalists,鈥 Krabill said. 鈥淲hen I reported on urban farming last summer, I learned a lot about the hard work it takes to create something long-lasting. I was even able to capture video and in-person interviews to tell the story during the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who has invested in my education and sees potential in me as a future journalist.鈥

Krabill now works as a News Content Associate for Spectrum News 1 OH.

The Society of Professional Journalists鈥 Mark of Excellence competition recognizes collegiate work published or broadcasted during 2021. The awards honor the best in student journalism. In spring 2022, five Kent State students and/or Kent State Student Media outlets were recognized as regional winners or finalists by SPJ. Read more about the regional honors.
